Promised Land

Artist statement I inherited a box of souvenirs from my Great Grandmother many years ago- bottles of sand and water collected from Israel and Palestine in the 70’s. As a child I considered these objects as monuments to a time and place removed by generations and distance. To bridge the distances I went on a journey to return the contents of the bottles. The trip spurred questions around displacement, homecoming, nationalist rhetoric and borders.
